Spring Car Care Tips

Springtime is the time to reward your vehicle for a long winter of reliable driving. The worst is over, and now its time to get your vehicle prepped for the summer driving season. Follow this advice, and your vehicle will be the nicest looking on the block.

Driven Vehicles

Remove any winter items in the vehicle such as the snowbrush. It will not do you any good now, and these items will only clunk around while you drive.
Get the vehicle detailed again to restore the shine and protection that wore away over the winter.
Regularly wash the vehicle. This makes the wax last longer, as well as the shine.
Check your fluids and your tire pressure. Tire pressure can vary greatly with temperature, so always check the pressure before driving on the tires.
If necessary, change your wipers again. They may have been damaged over the winter. This does not always need to be done, but better safe then sorry.

Stored Vehicles

A wash and a vacuum should be all that’s needed to make your vehicle look gorgeous again if it was stored properly.
Check your fluids and your tire pressure. Tire pressure can vary greatly with temperature, so always check the pressure before driving on the tires.
Reconnect the battery, and let the car run for at least one minute before driving it anywhere.
Go to the gas station and buy a tank of your preferred fuel, and start enjoying your vehicle.
Remember that the next oil change is due on the date, not the mileage. Oil will go bad even if it is not driven on.
